We Are - 

Monkton Country Day Care is an outreach of the Monkton United Methodist Church (www.monktonumc.net) and provides for the needs of families in our community by offering educational programs for children aged two through five.

We provide an atmosphere rich in love, patience and the positive encouragement necessary for the development of the whole child. We pride ourselves in providing a safe, healthy, nurturing, and cognitively stimulating environment for all of the children we serve. Our program is flexible and offers a variety of enrollment options to best meet our families’ needs.

Teachers act as facilitators of active learning, encouraging each child to grow at his or her own pace. Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate and promotes school readiness skills. Many opportunities for self-directed and teacher-directed activities are offered. We believe in 'play with a purpose' and emphasize the social and academic development of each child. We understand that children need to develop socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually. We consider that children are unique individuals and develop at their own pace and encourage them to learn by actively exploring, discovering and creating.

We believe children develop trust and respect when parents and caregivers provide a positive and caring environment.
